Internet Safety

Tik Tok is a popular app with children, it does have a 13+ age restriction, but we are aware that many of our pupils use it. Please be aware that some worrying content is appearing and you should monitor your children's use. CEOP and NSPCC have put together some parental advice which you can find here

West Midlands Police has been made aware of an  App called “UNICO LIVE”.  The app is publicised as age restricted 12+ and designed for young people to upload videos of them performing, singing and dancing etc.; it has come to our attention that there is inappropriate content on the platform involving young people which is being investigated.

The content does not appear to be monitored and we urge you to raise awareness widely to increase vigilance and reduce the likelihood of any child being sexually exploited.

You may be aware from the news that there is a new challenge circulating social media, particularly Whatsapp called the ‘Momo Challenge’. It is a 'game’ where young people are sent messages from a contact with a creepy doll-like face as the avatar image. The image has also been seen in You Tube Videos some aimed at very young children. (Such as Peppa Pig)

Please be very vigilant.
